Unmarked British "Improved" Air Cane, probably made by James Townsend, Birmingham England in the latter half of the 1800s. Muzzleloading .42 Caliber smoothbore barrel with .31 caliber inner rifled barrel. Air canes sold as "Improved" means that unlike most air canes it has a dry-fire spring. "Improved" air canes were sold at a premium. Cased in a velvet-lined reproduction American Black Walnut Case. Includes a bullet mold, reproduction key to cock the cane, key to the case, sample ammo, reproduction pump (also made in England). No serial number. Holds pressure and shoots good.
